Episode 153: The 270th anniversary of the Battle of Culloden

In this episode, we share talks from the commemoration of the 270th anniversary of the Battle of Culloden recorded at the Culloden Visitor Centre, April 16th, 2016. Speakers include Dr. Christopher Duffy (“Culloden as a special place”), Dr. Andrew Mackillop (“Clanship’s Indian summer: the 1745 Rising and the military capacity of the Scots clans”), and Professor Allan Macinnes (“Aftermath of Culloden: exemplary punishments and exemplary improvements”). We also include an interview with Ms. Katey Boal from the National Trust for Scotland. The discussion was emceed by Derek Alexander, Head of Archaeology with the National Trust for Scotland.
